Simple Solutions - Less is More was born out of necessity!
Always a neat freak as the last of eight kids growing up in Iowa, I shared my bedroom with my twin sister Jean, and one bathroom with the rest of the family.
Before I was hired as flight attendant, I lived in Tokyo, Japan teaching aerobics for 3 1/2 years during the Jane Fonda era. I shared a house with five other people from different countries, and my room was lets say, very compact! In both situations, I felt compelled to organize, for not just my own sanity, but to create an orderly, harmonious, and comfortable environment for everyone.
Fast forward to my years as a flight attendant with a husband, two energetic boys, and two large dogs! I realized I needed a stream-lined system that was fun, functional, and most importantly, easy to maintain for my family when I was gone.
Multi-colored baskets in various sizes, now lined the walls of my kids bedrooms and closets.
The clothes in all of our closets were grouped by color and on “ like “hangers
Large marked bins held our holiday decorations, sports equipment, etc. … in the garage
Clear labeled containers replaced the chaos of snacks and essentials in the pantry
It was such an easy system for all to keep up, and created such a sense of relief for me to come home from a trip and not feel overwhelmed by utter chaos.
